The song we have chosen to do is Krept and Konan - Roses, from their album The long Way Home. We chose this song because it didn't have a music video , meaning that we can use our creativity to do whatever we felt would be appropriate for it. However, it doesn't make it any easier for ourselves as now we have to use elements from any of their previous music videos, in order to stick to their typical conventions . So we have taken some inspiration from their other songs - Krept and Konan - My Story // Krept and Konan-Devils playground// Krept and Konan- Other side( previous student work).

This video is one of our inspirations as the lyrical content is similar to roses , both about losing someone. In this song it's about Konan's loss of his step father, after Kones was followed home and his family tried to barricade the door, costing Karl's life when he tried to fight them off. He was shot. Now he lives a guilty conscious, he has now lost two fathers, and is left with a lonely mother, afraid for her little boy. Then in the song Roses, Krept has lost a close friend of his, known to us as Kev, over leukaemia, after he only had two weeks to live and he's not sure if he made it. We think we can replicate this, as the music is a way of representing their pain and hurt, as well as their rise to success. This is enable us to forecast our acting skills.
Their music has a true feeling of authenticity. Their lyrics speak so much truth and pain. It's based on their life. From our perspective. We can relate to them extremely well. As I for one also live in South London as they do. Their music is so close to home and for us youth today, it's what so many of us experience at least in one point of our lives. We all know the pain of losing someone and feeling so helpless about it. We all grew up in similar lifestyles or know someone close to us that have. This may just be music to some people, but to us this is our lives they speak. They are a true testamate to being black and growing up in London. So with their music, we can really show this.
It will be different from that of the original one, as there isn't one.
"Dear Sir/Madam,
I also left a voicemail message on their answering machine. Just to be on the safe side.
