12. Base tracks by Esther

For some reason I can no longer embed another presentation I make, so here's the link that will show the types of base tracks we want to have in our work, as well as examples of them in real time
medias.

                                                      The use of slow motion?
We will use slow motion, but it will only be briefly. Where? at the very end of the music video, the plan is to use slow motion when they are walking away from the camera, into the far distance. So that's their backs faced to us. This is because we want to symbolise how hard it is to walk away. How hard it is to accept that someone you love so dearly will no longer be around physically. To show that in order to move on and grow as a person, sometimes the hardest things to do and the most benefiical for you. It reprsents the physially, psychological and spiritually elements of life. And frankly it sends such a powerful message. And it is used in many music videos, so it is something we could impitate well. We also think that it will be a beautiful to end the song. Here's an example of the type of ending we want, you an clearly see the artists walking away. Side note, its one of my fav songs at the moment too, from UK artists.

You can see the use of slow motion at the end, while she jogs into the distance. Though it different in terms of the body movement she's doing.  I feel like it does well to explain what I meant above.

                               Discontinuous editing?

Throughout the whole music video, you will clearly see this element, esspecially the use of jump cuts. As they will help the audience to maintain their attention throughout the music video, so that they don't grow bored of it. There will be repeated shots of the artists throughout. In order to remind you of who you are listening to, you will internalise it and put a face to their voice whenever you hear their music, without even noticing.
